Find Out MoreTake-down is simple work with a real payoff. We remove the fabric, leave the frame where it is unless you want that down too, and put everything back up when the weather turns in spring.
It is also the point in the year when problems show up. While the cover is off we can see the frame, the arms and the fixings, which is the right time to sort out a repair before next season.
What the service covers
- Fall removal of fabric covers from fixed awnings and canopies
- Closing, securing or removing retractable units for the winter
- Cleaning of the cover before it goes away, where it is wanted
- Storage over the winter if you do not have the room
- Spring re-hang, with the frame checked as it goes back up
- Repair quotes for anything we find while the cover is off
What it costs to find out
Nothing. We come out, look at the job and measure it, then give you a price for the work with the options written down. If a photo is enough to price it, we will tell you that instead of making you wait for a visit.
When to book it
Fall
Before the first heavy snow, which in Connecticut usually means late October or November.
Winter
If the cover is still up and snow is forecast, call us. Late is better than leaving it.
Spring
Re-hang once the frosts are done, usually April into May, depending on the year.

Do you store the fabric for us?
We can, or you can keep it somewhere dry at home. Tell us which you want when you book.
Can you take down an awning you did not install?
In most cases, yes. Send a photo of the awning and we will confirm.
Do you do commercial take-downs?
Yes. Restaurant patios and seasonal storefront covers come down the same way and can be scheduled around your hours.
