Awning Repair and Re-Covering

Most of the money in an awning is in the frame. If the frame is straight and solid, a new cover brings the whole thing back for a lot less than a new awning.

Fabric fades, seams open, arms bend and motors give up. None of that means the awning is finished. Send us a photo of the problem and we will tell you whether it is a repair, a re-cover or a replacement.

Photos save everybody a trip. A picture of the damage, plus one of the whole awning from a few steps back, usually tells us what we need to know.

What we repair

  • Torn, faded, stretched or mildewed fabric
  • Re-covering an existing frame with new fabric
  • Bent, seized or misaligned arms on retractable units
  • Motors, remotes and switches that have stopped responding
  • Loose brackets, pulled anchors and wall fixings
  • Frame welds, joints and straightening after storm damage

What it costs to find out

Nothing. We come out, look at the job and measure it, then give you a price for the work with the options written down. If a photo is enough to price it, we will tell you that instead of making you wait for a visit.

Repair, re-cover or replace

Repair

A specific part has failed and the rest is sound. Usually the fastest and cheapest fix.

Re-cover

The frame is good and the fabric is done. New cover on the existing structure.

Replace

The frame is corroded or bent past straightening. We will say so rather than sell you a cover that will not last.

Questions About Repair & Re-Covering

Do you repair awnings you did not install?

In most cases, yes. Send a photo and the brand if there is a label on the frame, and we will tell you what can be done and whether parts are available.

How do I know if the frame is still good?

Look for rust at the joints, arms that will not line up, and brackets pulling away from the wall. If you are not sure, send a photo.

Can you match the old fabric?

Sometimes exactly, sometimes only close. Colour ranges change over the years. We will show you what is available before you decide.

We cover Fairfield County and New Haven County. See the towns we work in.
